P.S : This is my 50th post, so cheers to all my readers :)
P.P.S : 49 posts as an unemployed engineer. But now things are a little different :D
Well after a lot of postponing of companies coming to our college, Deloitte turned out to be the first one to come for campus placements. I had never heard of that company before but with my no-idea-what-is-going-on, i went to attend the recruitment process. Now my preparation for Deloitte was,
*) Buy two formal shirts the day before company was to come.
*) Read aptitude questions for about 30 SECONDS.
*) Buy a file to put in my stuff.
Now considering I had a few classmates study R.S.Agarwal book during class hours and few other classmates bunk classes to study - yes! people actually bunk a whole day to study! - I was feeling my chances of getting into the company was lol-able.
First round was Aptitude questions. Nothing too complex. Still I was a little surprised I got through that. Next was a case study. With me talking a lot in my group and my reputation of nobody understanding what I say, I was the only one taken from my group. So again surprisingly got through case study also.
Next was personal interview and phone interview. Personal interview was an one-on-one across the table thing. Phone interview was again on-the-spot kinda thing. Talked my way through both of them. An after a tiring 4 hour wait for others to finish, results finally came out. Sai Santhosh had to made it to the 23 selected people.
As I was texting "Got placed in Delloite" to my friends, I realized I didn't know the spelling of that company for sure :D
So there it is people. With absolutely no serious preparation what so ever, I got placed in the first big interview I attended. And if you are wondering what a supposedly technical guy like me is doing joining Deloitte, you are thinking along the same lines as me.
